Solo show at Hawk + Hive: Everything the Light Touches

Hawk + Hive is delighted to announce “Everything the Light Touches”, a series of paintings by British artist Gianni Notarianni. Inspired by his time spent in the forests of Ontario, Canada, Notarianni’s work tells the story of a year in the natural world, passing through seasons and times of day. He closely observes the light and shadow of landscape and the spatial relationships of branch and leaf, trunk and thicket, communicating an interest with the very language of painting. He focuses on pictorial devices such as line, color and form and there is a meditative quality to his process through the slow build up of detailed pattern, creating quiet spaces of contemplation within the works.
